Please see the following information that has come from CurlON.

We have been operating the club at 50% capacity for the season, so at this time there is no change for us.

A further announcement will follow before we return in January regarding the operation of the bar along with any further measures that may be required.

Ontario strengthens response to Omicron

At 4:00 pm Friday, December 17th, Premier Ford announced new measures to be implemented across the Province effective at 12:01 am on Sunday, December 19th.

What does this release mean for our clubs:

  • The indoor capacity is reduced to 50%. (For the lounge area this means 50% of your posted AGCO capacity, for the ice shed it means 50% of your fire code capacity - in curling we are able to continue with 8 people per sheet)
  • Post a sign showing your official capacity limits that are permitted in the establishment.
  • Limit the number of people at a table to 10 persons and all patrons must remain seated at all times.
  • Bars and Restaurants (including curling lounges) are required to close at 11:00 pm. The Sale of alcohol is prohibited after 10:00 pm and consumption after 11:00 pm.
  • Food and Drink at indoor sporting events is prohibited unless in a restaurant setting subject to rules stated. Note this does not affect curling except for larger events Ontario Scotties or Ontario Tankard.

Also remember to monitor your health units websites as they may issue a Section 22 order at any time further restricting activities within their jurisdicion. The Unionville Curling Club is privately owned by its members and operated by an elected Board of Directors. It represents a group of individuals dedicated to the Sport of Curling.

The Unionville Curling Club was founded in 1919. From its humble beginnings in a small converted barn to its present location, the club has grown to become one of Ontario's most respected curling clubs. Situated in the heart of the village of Unionville, it serves curlers from the surrounding area as well as Metro Toronto.
