Good afternoon Unionville Curling Club Members!
This season I am excited to announce NEW Early Bird curling. Early Birds is a drop-in tag curling on Sunday mornings. It’s a great way for curlers to get an extra game of curling during the week. Tag curling means the teams are made by the Draw Master on Sunday morning just before everyone heads onto the ice.
What is new this year?
NEW TIME: 9:30 am. Please be there 20 minutes before the start of the game. This will give the draw master time to make the teams.
NEW COST: No fee. Free for all members.
NEW AGE LIMIT: Early Birds is open to all members 15 years and up.
NEW SKILL DEVELOPMENT: There will be a coach available for the first couple of weeks to answer questions or help with gameplay for curlers.
For all you returning birds, don’t fret! Early Birds will still use the Crazy Bird style of curling.
For you new feathered friends: Crazy Birds style of play is different from your norm: Every curler on a team gets a turn at playing every position in an 8 end game. This is a great opportunity for new curlers to experience each position lead, second, vice, and skip. This also helps more experienced curlers to understand each position better.
So, bring your UCC team members for a fun Sunday morning!
