Good day to all curlers and friends, past and future!
Your Unionville Curling Club Manager, Ice Technician, and Board of Directors hope you are all keeping safe and well in these unprecedented times. We have been hard at work on a plan to safely re-open the curling club. You will naturally have questions which should be answered early next week along with registration opening. Due to the fluid nature of the guidelines our answers will depend on public health policies. Stay tuned!
Practice ice time is estimated to begin September 27th and our first leagues will begin on October 4th.
For now we are happy to announce that this September there will be some updates in the women's locker room, and some layout re-organization in the men's locker room.
If you have an hour or more to spare, please reply to this email letting us know when you are available.
Before our construction timeline of September 7-17, we will need volunteers to:
-remove plaque trophies hanging on locker room walls
-safely detach and move the wooden/glass cases in the women's room
-potentially change a few light bulbs
-remove some bulletin boards (as we are moving to more electronic communication)
-move some lockers in the men's room to a perimeter layout
After the construction, we will need to: (September 18)
-paint the men's and women's locker room walls and benches
-assemble and move new benches into the women's locker room
-clean the windows and mirrors in the lounge area
- wash all other windows inside and out
-organize the boardroom/storage room
-wipe down walls in washrooms (due to construction)
-vacuum
