PRESIDENT'S UPDATE: A year ago when I accepted the position of Vice-President I never imagined that at the time my year as Club President would begin we would be in the midst of a worldwide pandemic.
I remain optimistic that curling can return, however, to do so there will be changes in the way our club operates and how we play the game we all love. We have assembled a Reopening Committee that will develop policies and procedures designed to keep our members and staff safe while allowing us to enjoy the competition and fun of curling.
We will continue to monitor provincial regulations along with announcements from public health authorities, the City of Markham and curling associations. As we progress with our reopening plans we will maintain an open line of communication with our members on the status of these plans and what you can expect.
An announcement will be made soon about the launch of our registration process. To assist the committee in planning for our reopening we need to know how many curlers wish to play. We will ask you to register for any leagues you plan to play in, but payment of fees will become payable at a later date upon notification.
Over the past few months, we have all had to adapt to an unprecedented amount of change and in the UCC tradition of friendship, we ask for your patience and understanding as we navigate the necessary changes to get us back on the ice.
Finally, as we progress through some repairs and maintenance in the club we have noted that some lockers have not been cleared out; if you would like to do so, please contact Lynda, by email at This email address is being protected from spambots.
